- Project Description
The project consists of an Arduino Mega board which along with a GSM modem is used to control various electronic devices as well as a fire emergency system which would help to reduce fire hazards. It also has a security feature to safeguard our smart home to detect intruder in our smart home. In the United States, ongoing research in precision agriculture has been effectively applied to large agri-businesses at scale. But small farmers do not have the capital resources to invest in expensive monitoring systems.
You will be an integral member of the wider EMEA Forensics practice, and help to build Control Risks' reputation in the marketplace through technical excellence, project delivery, networking, and assisting in authoring client facing material. Manual control is also given in this project so the unskilled person can easily change the status. Home automation and Device controlling can be done using Internet of Things – IOT technology. The list of components mentioned here are specifically for controlling 4 different loads. You can change the login password here and program the threshold value for the fire alarm to raise.

As the output of the alarm sys- tem can be connected to external lamps or alarm sirens, these devices will be instantly activated upon the detected motion. Here, the PIC12F675 works as a “logic interface” between the detection device and the alarm actua- tor. Security systems can include motion sensors that will detect any kind of unauthorized movement and notify the user through the security system or via cell phone. This article describes the implementation of a Bluetooth technology and an android application with voice prompts based home-automated system using an Arduino microcontroller. The system is aimed at designing an automated appliance control that is user-friendly and convenient to use.
There are five types of sensors used in the project those are being directly interfaced to the microcontroller. To sense the light intensity we use two LDR sensors that is light dependent resistors interfaced to the ADC input of the microcontroller. One pin of the LDR is connected to Vcc via a 330K resistor and other tied to ground.
Bluetooth Based Home Automation Systems
The two transistor T1 and T2 are in series and those T3 and T4 are also in series. The base of all four transistors are protected y current limiting resistors R1-R4. The base signals of T1 and T4 are the same and that of T3 and T2 are also the same. The operation is simple that when Sig1 is logic 1 and Sig 2 is logic 0, it will turn ON T1 and T4 and will turn the motor in one direction same if we reverse the input logics, the motor will go in reverse direction.
Android remote control based home automation consists of Android OS operated Graphical User Interface with wireless communication modules such as Bluetooth and Zigbee to have control on different home appliances. In this circuit diagram AT89c52 microcontroller is used which consist of CPU, RAM, ROM, timers and input, outputs ports .It is just like a computer only difference is the memory and also no need to use any microprocessor to make any function. The AT89c52 is low power, high performance 8 bit microcontroller with 8k bytes programmable flash memory. The device is manufactured using Atmel high-density nonvolatile memory technology and is compatible with the industry standard 80c51 instruction set pin output.

This creates a potential difference in between of the circuit and is fed to pin A.3 and A.2 of the microcontroller respectively. To sense the temperature we used two solid state semiconductor temperature sensors from analog devices also interfaced to the ADC input of the microcontroller. The two pins are connected to the power supply to power the sensors and the third pin is the output pin is connected to the ADC7 and ADC6 channel of the microcontroller. To sense the LPG leak in the home we used the MQ-5 LPG sensor and it is interface to the ADC5 channel input of the microcontroller.
Smart home appliance is an interface between the remote control with its mobile or remote control and a home reliever. For each device, in order to accomplish this interface design process was taken useing the micro controller and arduino for controlling some application in the home manually by using a remote control and automatically through different sensors. We use a different types of micro controllers which are (PIC30f4013-PIC 16f627A- PIC12f652- PIC18f, arduino), secondary connectivity between remote or smut phone and micro controller is established through modules. The two previous modules can be connected either to micro controller or arduino. A specific android application has been designed such that diffrenet home electronic devices can be controlled using a smart phone remotely.

Therefore, it's a good choice to design a home automation for luxurious life. Home automation can allow you to make the things that you need and do in your home easier to accomplish. Or, perhaps you want to voice automate the lights in your home so that you can get into bed and then turn the lights out. Or, perhaps you want to be able to control your sound system from any place in your home. No matter what it is you are looking to accomplish, home automation products are probably available to help you to make it happen. A typical home automation system allows one to control house hold appliances from a centralized control unit.
The design comprised an Arduino ATMEGA328 microcontroller board, Bluetooth module (HC-06), and an android application . The Arduino controls any connected component and was programmed with C++ programming language by using Integrated Development Environment . Once the system is connected, the user controls the electrical appliances connected to the home-automated system, which can also be controlled using voice prompt with the help of a Google assistant inbuilt with the android smartphone. The system switches the home appliances ON and OFF using the android app, Bluetooth module, and voiced prompt. It can also be timed to switch off appliances for a pre-time of 12 h, thus making the application easy and convenient to operate via a smartphone. The project presents a digital notice board and electronic appliances control by using GSM and Bluetooth.
If the sleep mode is activated and motion is detected or someone open the door, the alarm fires and alert the user. The project Smart Home Automation, demonstrates a system that can be integrated into a home/building’s electrical system and allows one to wirelessly control lights, fans, and turn on or off any appliance that is plugged into a wall outlet. The system can be controlled from a Bluetooth or Wi-Fi enabled device such as a mobile phone or laptop, while a microcontroller powered box act as the server. Thus the installation cost and hardware cost is kept to a minimum as most users already own the requisite hardware such as a mobile phone and desktop PC. Also, there are many disabled and aged people who always depends on others for their basic necessities. Serial port Bluetooth module have a Bluetooth 2.0+EDR , 3Mbps modulation with complete 2.4GHZ radio transceiver and baseband.
When an LPG leak is detected the output of the LPG sensor decrease gradually and that is being sensed by the ADC of the microcontroller. After them, we used a hook switch to sense the door whether it is opened or closed. This sensor is connected to the digital input pin D.7 of the microcontroller pulled up externally.Whe the door is closed, the hook switch is closed and the output is logic low as it bypasses the ground. When the door is open, the hool switch is also open and it bypasses logic1 throught 10k resistor to the output. To sense the presence and motion we used the PIR sensor that has a digital output and it is also connected to the digital input (pinA.4) of the microcontroller pulled up externally. When a motion is detected ,the output goes high for a few seconds and comes back to low in case of absence of motion.
This report demonstrates a simple home automation system which consists of remote mobile, host controller, and several home appliances. The client module can communicate with host controller through a wireless device such as Bluetooth. Home Automation using AndroidGenerally, in today’s modern world human beings are addicted to using modern equipment.
